“So you’re saying someone made you a total dork?” Nat said.
“You’re one to talk.” Rei said with a smirk.
The red head blushed and shoved her girlfriend. Nat then turned back to the other two girls and gave an awkward smile.
“Sorry. You said you were taken to some sort of school but can’t remember where. Are you sure it was even in this state?” The Dhampir said.
“I do not remember much but I do recall seeing the same autumn leaves when I was able to look out the windows of the upper floors. Only the girls who were on their best behavior were allowed up there…I was allowed up there quite a bit…” Diana said, embarrassed at how well behaved she was at the school.
“So are there any abandoned schools or creepy, corporate buildings around here?” Trisha asked excitedly.
Nat and Rei both looked at each other and then back to the two new girls.
“Uh…I don’t think there’s anything like that around here. The place we’re looking for is probably well hidden and disguised, we should try the old hiking trails, they lead up to some camp grounds. The place was bought up for some resort but the place just sits there.” Rei explained.
“Uh that’s like the most obvious place for a secret brainwashing facility to be!” Trisha exclaimed.
“Let’s not get our hopes up, even if we do find this place, how are we going to get Diana back to normal—you know what I mean.” Nat said.
“They did this to her, they have to have a way to reverse it somehow.” Trisha stated.
“Why don’t I just use my ring of change to help you?” Rei asked.
The others all looked surprised and embarrassed that none of them had thought of that. Diana nodded to the black haired girl and her ring statutes to glow. However shortly its glow faded and they saw that nothing had changed.
“That’s odd, I can’t seem to change you, I’m sensing that something is missing from you, it’s keeping me from using my magic.” Rei said.
“I knew it wouldn’t be that easy. We’re going to have to find the place that Dai was taken to and figure out what exactly they did to her.” Trisha said.
The others nodded and they made plans to take the hiking trial up to the closed camping grounds where they would start their search.
The trek up the hill was a lot harder than they had anticipated, it was full of fallen trees and practically nonexistent paths. It was clear despite being scheduled for renovations, nothing had been done to the area for a while. They packed lightly and started their journey late last night so they would have plenty of sunlight for their trip, Rei seemed to lead the way with her girlfriend and the other two following closely behind.
They had all gotten dressed for the hike, Diana had even changed out of her skirt and put on a pair of khaki, front pleated cargo pants and a sturdier pair of dress shoes. Eventually once the sun began to set they came upon the closed hiking grounds, there were signs on the way that the place was under construction but there were no machines or other signs of construction anywhere.
“Yea, this place isn’t suspicious and creepy at all.” Trisha said sarcastically.
“Let’s look around, maybe there’s a secret entrance in one of the old cabins.” Nat said.
