The sun finally rose, once again, and Lucas yawned.
They kids had partied all night, so he was a little bit tired still. He got up from his bed, and went to brush his teeth.
"Morning", moaned another boy. It was George, a 15 year old football player from his school. "Hey" Lucas grunted, as he approached the older boy.
They met up during last nights party and kinda hit it off. The boys brushed their teeth, and had a quick breakfast.
"So, what are you going to do today?" George asked, excited about having complete freedom at their discretion.
"Hmm, not much, I was thinking about going on a bit off a hike, on the bus ride over I saw this field that looked nice, so I was thinking about looking it up" the younger boy answered.
They did have total freedom, but this also meant there were no arranged activities, they had to plan everything themselves.
"Sounds fun, let me know if it is any good to play football on!" George quickly answered as he was called away by his friends.
Lucas put his shoes on and started walking. On the way towards the tree line he did notice some of the boys acting strange. He could have sworn he saw someones walk on his hands and feet just like a monkey. He shrugged it off, it was probably nothing, just playing around in the jungle he thought.
The jungle was pretty, a lot of green surrounded the boy, and songs of birds and calls of animals were heard throughout the place.
Lucas really enjoyed it, but everything did seem a bit louder then usual. He heard a noise right above him, so he looked up, and saw a group of monkeys swinging through the trees, all looking at the boy.
He kept walking through the woods, until he eventually reached the clearing. There was a large tree in the center of the field, creating a nice shade to hide away from the sun.
Lucas dropped his bag underneath the tree and fell down, with a big sigh of relief. He was in paradise, he thought.
Lucas then heard a lot of yelling, coming from the direction of the campsite, but sounding far closer to him.
He looked around trying to see if anyone had followed him, but he was completely alone.
"That's weird, I could have sworn I heard something right here!" Lucas said as he scratched the side of his head, brushing against something that shouldn't be there.
"What is this?" the boy said as he felt around his head, holding his ears. He thought it was weird, that he was so confused over his ears, but they didn't feel out of the ordinary, or at least that was what he thought.
He looked around, trying to see if he could find some water, to look at his own reflection, luckily for him there was a small pond, on the other side of the tree.
He crawled towards it, too lazy to actually walk, and stared at his own reflection.
Lucas ears had moved a bit more to the side of his head, curving around, and growing in size, and looked far more suitable for a monkey than a human!
Lucas gasped in surprise and ran a hand over his head, grabbing his big monkey ears. "This can't be real!" the boy panicked. He quickly got up and ran back towards the tree, grabbed his bag, and tried to make his way to camp.
As soon as he grabbed his bag however, he finally noticed that his arms were a lot hairyer then they used to be. He wouldn't call it covered in fur yet, but he definitely grew a lot more hair on his arms then he used to have.
Shaking of the extra surprise Lucas looked around, and saw where he had to go, towards the sounds of the commotion!
