Duke sat on the couch looking down at the floor looking troubled as he had for the last few days. Sasha and her father, Joe, had never seen Duke looking so down before. It was definitely related to the argument he had with Caleb at the hospital about Wyatt's involvement on Connor's attack.
"Hey, would this cheer you up?" Sasha asked handing him a magazine with wedding dresses on it.
"What's this for?" Duke asked looking up at her.
"I thought you could help me choose my wedding dress. Nothing big or fancy mind you, just a simple but beautiful little thing." Sasha said winking at her future husband as he smiled back at her.
Before Duke could say anything else, there was a knock at their front door. Duke went over to answer it and was surprised to see Nat on the other side of the door rubbing her arm.
"Hey Duke, do you think I could come in for a moment?" Nat asked as Duke looked around to see no one else was with her, Nat had come alone. He let her in and shut the door behind him.
"Hi Sasha, how've you been?" Nat asked giving Sasha a meek smile.
"Since the hospital you mean? I've been fine." Sasha replied raising her eyebrow at the girl.
"Yeah, I heard you and Gloria and some of the others got....into a debate about your half-brother." Nat said looking at Duke.
"Yeah, we did. Did you come over just to convince me I'm wrong?" Duke questioned the girl.
"No, not in the slightest. Look, I know that the big guy, Hannibal, attacked Connor and the others. But I don't know or can't believe Wyatt would risk his own family and attack Connor or anyone else. So I don't know exactly what's going on there, but...while I'm not sure I can believe Wyatt, I believe you." Nat explained.
"Why do you believe me?" Duke asked.
"Because.....since Kane, you've looked out for me like a big brother, and I always wanted a brother and....a sister in-law in the future too." Nat said looking over at Sasha.
"So you do believe me?"
"Yeah, but....only in private. Connor and Spark, despite what they believe are still my friends and I want to stay friends with them." Nat explained.
"Okay," Duke nodded. "Thanks for believing in me. You're a good little sister." Duke said as Nat smiled and jumped over to Duke giving him a hug and he hugged her back.
He felt like he needed a good hug from a friend.
"By the way, do you think you could help me with this? Sasha wanted me to...." Duke began.
"Pick out a wedding dress?! Yes!! Actually, Rei is great at helping with this, let me give her a call really fast." Nat said excitedly.
"You think Connor and Spark would mind if Nat and Rei were at our little wedding?" Duke asked Sasha as Nat talked on the phone and they could hear Rei over the phone get excited about the dresses.
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind if those two came. How are you feeling?" Sasha asked rubbing her future husband's shoulder.
"A little better. My sister helped me feel just a little better." Duke said with a little smile as he watched Nat excitedly talk with Rei on the phone.
