Nurse Jessica walked into the break room about an hour after they had finished their lunch. It was just after 4am in the middle of winter so looking out the windows was pointless, there would only be darkness and some lights on outside of houses. No one tended to come in until at least 6 or so and so she was going to try to get a quick nap in. After almost 20 years working the night shift here she knew when was a good time to take a nap and get some much needed sleep.
“Fuck me.” She cursed as she rubbed her shoulder blade, she could feel the patch of band aids and the like which covered the wound given to her a couple hours ago by that crazy homeless man. She had hadn’t expected a man who was nearly flat lined to suddenly bolt up and bite her in the shoulder before going into one of the worse seizure she had ever seen before finally dying.
She moved toward the coach and kicked off her shoes before laying down, if there was an emergency she would still be able to get there but she wouldn’t be getting off work for almost 8 hours so she was going to get some rest.
“Stupid hospital, needs to hire some more nurses and not those dam ones who get pregnant and never come back.” She cursed, she had seen it many times the hospital hires a bunch of nurses straight out of school and then about ½ get pregnant within 5 years, they work light duty while pregnant and then once they have the child they decide to be a stay at home mom instead.
She let out a sigh, she couldn’t blame the women, she in truth envied them.
She had always wanted a husband, children but never found/had one. She had been closed once but her soon to be husband at the time was caught in bed with her airhead of a younger sister. She broke it off of course but she never found anyone else again and now she was getting older.
She knew she wasn’t a looker; she was and always had been a tom boy and now she was over 40 closer to 45. She had average brown/black hair and wasn't a natural blonde or a red head. Her breasts where on the smaller side compared to others and being a daddy's girl growing up with a father who was marine meant she wasn't that "womanly." Maybe that is why she was such a good nurse, she was a leader and proud of it, still she wanted a family.
“Maybe stepmom is still in my cards if I find someone….” Said Jessica “A good man, a good mate.”
“Mate…why did I say mate?” said Jessica as she looked up at the ceiling.
She closed her eyes and tried to get some sleep; however, her sleep was interrupted by something else. She reached down under her scrubs and began to rub her womanhood, as she began to fantasize but something was off she was fantasizing about herself and her mate but she wasn’t a human anymore.
She was something else.
