Leah woke up to another poopy diaper. But it felt so normal at this point, she didn't bat an eye. She got down from the crib and climbed onto her changing table. With her diaper changed, she got dressed in her school uniform, which now consisted of a onesie in the school colors. She looked at her reflection, with her big diaper bulge, and giggled.
Her mood high, Leah toddled to her door and opened it. Only to be faced with a baby gate. She stared at it, knowing she should be able to open it. But it might as well have been a rocket that needed repairs. She couldn't even begin to figure it out.
"Tina!" she shouted. She heard footsteps, then Tina appeared.
"You look ready for school," Tina remarked, opening the gate. Leah walked through with a scowl.
"Is the baby gate really necessary?" she demanded. Like the crib situation, she didn't want to deal with it. It would just make her life more difficult.
"Look, sweetie, you can barely move in that diaper! The gates keep you from getting hurt!"
The static returned. Leah immediately fell onto her diapered butt. Great. Thankfully, she was able to stand up again, though it was far more difficult than before, and she knew she'd need to be next to the wall for support to walk anywhere.
"Maybe by the stairs, but for different rooms?" Leah said. She'd prefer no gates, but she had the feeling Tina would only agree to fewer gates. And she didn't want to make things even worse. "I can be trusted to go into different rooms."
"Hmm. You're right," Tina sighed. "Putting them everywhere was a bit much. But I'm leaving them on the stairs and the doors to outside."
"Deal," Leah said as the static returned. The gate in front of her bedroom disappeared. She let out a surprised squeak as Tina picked her up and carried her downstairs, then into the kitchen. As she suspected, there was a high chair waiting for her. But the breakfast on its tray wasn't baby food, thankfully.
While Leah ate breakfast, the doorbell rang.
"Come in!" Tina, who was packing Leah's lunch, called. The door opened. In stepped Leah's best friend, Tonya. "Perfect timing. Leah is just about done."
"Great!" Tonya beamed at Leah. "Ready for another day at school, buddy?"
"Uh, yeah," Leah said slowly. She was getting better at figuring out what the warps did. Judging by what Tonya had with her and what she said, she was Leah's official buddy of some sort, to help Leah get around school. Leah had been wondering that, actually. It would be difficult to get to classes barely able to walk. But it wouldn't be difficult anymore, because Tonya had with her...
