Dan found life on the farm fairly simple. He enjoyed being petted by visiting families, but he couldn't stand the food. Farmer Dave gave less attention to him than he had expected, but then again, it was a big farm.
Every now and again, the family would visit. Kat always looked guilty, and his mom was always worried. "Are you eating enough?" "How are your joints?" etc. The farmer found this all a little odd, and just left them to it.
But, a few months into his stay, Dan became a little worried about his future on the farm. He heard Farmer Dave talking to his wife about 'struggling economy' and 'selling up'- what did he mean?
