...laughed out loud. They knew that less than a minute ago, they had been three normal human women, and this had been an ordinary beauty salon. Sophia poked Marie and Sandra's big red noses and all three chortled at the loud and silly honks that emerged. They now had been turned into clowns but didn't care; the three of them looked so silly.
April could barely contain herself, the sight in front of her was SSSOOO funny.
Ding-a-ling! The bell above the door sounded and all three clowns turned to see a middle-aged woman and a teenaged girl enter, both their eyes opened wide at the change in the salon. April recognized Debbie Beaumont, a classmate she shared chemistry and earth science with, and judging by their resemblance, the middle-aged woman was likely her mother.
The latter woman blinked. "Sophia?" she asked not sure if she and her daughter entered the right building.
The white-faced clown nodded. "Suzanne!" she giggled her voice an octave deeper with a goofy lilt, then looked at Debbie. "You two here for your sweet sixteen makeovers, hee-hee ha-ha?"
"Err, yes," Debbie replied, evidently weirded out by the scene. Today was her sixteenth birthday, and her mother had booked this salon to get them ready for her big gala party tonight. "Is this some sort of theme you're having today?"
"You might say that hee-hee ha-ha," Sophia said, and Marie and Sandra honked their noses in agreement. "Still, we've got your booking and we're gonna give you two the works!"
Still weirded out, Suzanna and Debbie let the clowns lead them to the salon chairs. "Okay, first we do your hair, hee hee ha ha," Sophia said, punctuating her speech with giggles, "then while it's drying, Sandra and Marie give you man-pedis and we do your makeup, hee hee ha ha." As if on cue, Sandra honked her nose. "Trust me, hee hee ha ha, you both are gonna love the way you'll look." Marie then honked her nose.
Suzanne and Debbie began to feel a little more at ease as they sat down and salon capes were draped over them. Marie and Sandra began cutting their hair, as Sophia carried on with the usual salon gossip-well, she did all the talking in that goofy voice she seemed to be using for today, while Sandra and Marie were silent, only occasionally honking their big red clown noses in response to their bosse's words.
Next Sandra and Marie began shampooing Suzanne and Debbie's hair; mother and daughter both felt a strange tingling in their scalps unlike anything they ever felt before. The feeling intensified as the shampoo was rinsed out, and some strange liquid was rubbed into their hair.
"Now we start the perms, hee hee ha ha," Sandra said, and Marie honked her nose. The two augustes rolled curlers into Suzanne and Debbie's hair, as Sophia wheeled over an apparatus with two elastic caps attached to hoses."Just relax, hee hee ha ha," Sophia said as Sandra and Marie laid the salon chairs out flat and she placed the caps over her clients' heads. Sophia flipped a switch, and both Suzanne and Debbie felt their unease fade, replaced by a strange giddiness.
Still invisible, April walked over to get a closer look. Sophia and Marie began trimming their fingernails while Sandra removed their shoes and socks and started their pedicures.
Once that was done, next said nails were painted, and April saw the first signs these weren't normal salon makeovers-Suzanne's nails were painted alternating green and orange, while Debbie's were blue.
"Now's the time for them to soak, hee hee ha ha," Sophia giggled as the chairs were raised erect. The tingling Suzanne and Debbie now seemed to course through their bodies as their hands and feet were placed into small tub and footbaths filled with a sweet-smelling pink liquid.
While their nails were soaking, Sandra and Marie began working on their faces. Suzanne and Debbie let out small giggles as they felt what seemed like cold cream being rubbed around their mouths and eyes. From her invisibility could see the cold cream spots being shaped into patches of white around the eyes and wide muzzles around the mouths; excess cream was then wiped away shaping into crisp edges. More creme was them wiped with Q-Tips, around the eyes, and along the lower lips. The two augustes patted Suzanne and Debbie's faces with baby powder, which they then brushed away with brushes.
While this was happening, mother and daughter both felt their facial muscles contorting into wide silly grins.
Taking out a makeup palette, Suzanne painted smiles inside the white muzzles, Suzzane's blue black that made her mouth look always open and Debbie's a bright red. Powder then brush. Green eyeshadow was applied to Suzanne's eyelids while Debbie's were shaded dark blue. Powder then brush. Their eyes were outlined with thick black eyeliner, and wide arched black eyebrows were drawn over their white eye patches, giving them a surprised look. Finally, Sophia applied soft red blush on their cheeks, glued on big curly black eyelashes, and painted the ends of their noses red.
After the makeup was done, Sophia plugged in what looked like nasal cannulas plugged into Suzanne and Debbie's nostrils, then wound a timer. As the seconds ticked away, Suzanne's complexion became a pale peachy orange, and Debbie's sugar pink.
And their little red noses inflated into big, bulbous red noses.
Ting!
Debbie and Suzanne's eyes opened, their minds still somewhat hazy. Sandra and Marie removed the caps from their head, showing their hair had been styled into a bushy, curly afro style-Suzanne's green with orange highlights, Debbie's blue that matched her nails. The two augustes then took away the manicure bowls and footbaths-and Suzzanne and Marie saw they both now had ridiculously long feet. Finally, Sophia removed the nasal cannulas and gave both their new clown noses a squeeze. HONK! HONK!
Suzanne and Marie blinked, then looked at each other, then down at themselves. They felt their faces, wiggled their toes, and squeezed their noses themselves. Honk! Honk!
And then they laughed.
"We look SSSOOO hilarious!" Debbie squealed, her voice sounding like she was breathing helium. "This is the best birthday ever, hee hee ha ha! Thanks mom!"
"Your party tonight will be one to remember, hee hee ha ha," Suzanne replied, speaking in a goofy alto voice. Then she held up her big left clown foot. "I'm afraid we'll both need new shoes, hee hee ha ha," she giggled. "Our old ones won't fit."
"Not a problem," Sophia replied. Sandra and Marie waddled into the back room, while Sophia pulled out two pairs of knee length socks-orange with green polka dots that she placed over Suzanne's feet, then blue and white striped ones over Debbie's. Sandra and Marie came back each with a pair of clown Mary Janes.
Sandra put the pair of blue Mary Janes trimmed in red on Debbie's feet, and Marie the green with orange polkadots on Debbie. The stylist capes were removed, mother and daughter got out of the chairs.
"Oh my," Debbie giggled and honked her nose. "This is so cool, hee hee ha ha!" She honked her nose again.
"Indeed," agreed her mother, who then honked her own nose. Then she looked at her daughter and down at herself. "I'm afraid what we're wearing doesn't fit how we look now, hee hee ha ha."
"Your right mom," Debbie's voice became, well, slightly more serious. "We're gonna need a whole new wardrobe now, hee hee ha ha!"
"Not a problem, hee hee ha ha." Sophia took out a small business card. "This is a costume shop, hee hee ha ha, with several clown clothing selections, hee hee ha ha. They can get you both something for your party tonight, hee hee ha ha, and get you gals a whole new wardrobe sent to you within a week."
The new mother and daughter auguste clowns nodded and walked to the door. Turning around, they honked their noses as if to say goodby, which Sandra and Marie replied in return.
April then decided to...
