Duffel bag left in Lucy's room, introductions made, even though a part of her insisted she'd already met the others, they then talked about ordering pizza tonight, movies they might watch, and their weekend plans, with Diana asking, "We still on for the indoor waterpark followed by the cinema afterward?" to which Lucy affirmed, "My aunt's dropping us off around 11am. We'll grab something to eat there, spend the day, then head over to the mall around four or five, get dinner, then head for the Megaplex afterward."
This settled, the moved on to sleeping arrangements, which were quickly settled after a bit with Diana and Lucy sharing the bed, Tanay and Natalie, since they'd brought sleeping bags, kipping in them, either in the living room or in Lucy's room, their choice, and the two new girls getting the pull-out section of the hide-a-bed couch.
With this decided, Lucy made a motion for them to follow, and leading them out of her room, she commented, "I wanna show you all something," and heading toward the home office, she explained to the about a computer programme she discovered called the Chronivac.
The instant she heard this, something inside Felicity twinged, and she felt even more so as if she was reliving events. Confused, following the other girls, missing as Lucy said something, but hearing everyone else's response in the negative, Felicity was drawn out of her thoughts when Lucy called for silence, then, after looking at each one in turn, posed the question, "What if it could?" then, before any could answer, she added, "If it did, we could have something else we could together. Maybe not this weekend, but at a later time."
Silence greeted this, and Felicity considered what she'd just heard as she also tried to work out why it left her feeling the way she did. A step or two in front of her, Natalie crossed her arms over her front and stated, "Why don't we find a way to test it first?"
This immediately led to all of them talking at once, with each putting forth and idea on how to try the Chronivac in a safe way. Felicity, giving a suggestion at one point, also watched Lucy, as if suspecting the girl, who'd withdrawn from the conversation, to do something. And when she used a device hooked up to the computer to do something, Felicity wasn't surprised, and had a sneaking suspicion she had used it do something with the Chronivac. Turning her focus back to the group, she listened for a minute what they were all saying, then, when she sensed a break, she offered another idea.
In front of the computer, unaware she'd been seen doing what she was doing, Lucy pulled up the individual profiles of each of the girls. For a split second, she had much the same feeling like what Felicity was experiencing, almost as if she'd already done this, and would see at least one of the profiles, possibility two, already existed. But then the screen blinked, and she saw none of the information she'd just scanned into had existed until she done what she'd done. The sensation she'd experienced passing, guessing she must have been mistaken, she scrolled through things as fast as she could, swapped her hair colour to vibrant, pastel blue, made sure the awareness was set for everyone in the room, saved, and initiated the change.
The change instantaneous, she felt her scalp begin to itch, and within seconds, her hair shifted to the hue she'd selected. All talk ceasing the instant it occurred, she smiled when she had their attention and commented, "I say this was a successful test. So, who wants to try it?"
