"Hello?" She asked.
"Hey Pauline, it's me, your baby daddy," said a voice Pauline's new memories recognized rather harshly as Seth Collins, father to Nate, and her date from last year's Junior Prom.
"Why are you calling me, Seth?" asked Pauline.
"I um... wanted to talk. In person."
"Nate and I are on the class trip."
"I know that... believe me, my bank account knows that all too well."
"What are you doing here, Seth? You got held back."
"Look, I know I've fucked up... I really know it. But can you and the baby meet me at your room or something? I don't want to have this talk over a phone."
Pauline was about to hang up when she looked over at Nate and felt something flutter inside of her as she watched her son crack a smile.
"All right... one conversation, but that's all," said Pauline.
"Thanks Pauline, you won't regret--" started Seth, but Pauline hung up before he finished.
"Well, thank you all for the company, but Nate & I have got some things to take care of with Daddy," said Pauline as she picked Nate up and balanced him expertly on her hip before walking out of the restaurant.
"With Daddy?" asked Thomas, confused.
"She means with Seth," explained Sumire.
"I mean, weren't you paying attention to the call?" asked Stephanie.
"What was in that drink you gave her Steph?" asked Daniel, ignoring the questions.
"Oh, it's just a reality suppressant. It makes you accept the current reality a bit more and suppresses your memories of the old one for a few hours. It helps makes things less... complicated," said Stephanie with a smile.
"Now she fully believes she's Nate's mother," summarized Sumire.
"And she's going to talk to Seth?!" said Daniel, locking eyes with Sumire for a second before both nodded their heads, grabbed Henry, and got up to follow mother and baby back to her room.
