"We'll deal with the goblin in a minute", the judge booms, "let us first deal with the more serious case. Katherine Singleton, in the way that you had taken your brother's life, so shall he take your life until amends can be made..." Kat gulped, "I'm going to die?" The judge shook his head slowly. "Not quite. To allow the defendant to live at least a semblance of his former life, you will relinquish your body to him until such time that it is no longer needed, that is: when a new suitable human body can be found for him. In the meantime, your own soul will be stored in the feline vessel he currently possesses. Now, let the execution begin!" Kat and Dan led forward to a pair of powerful looking mages, and were each instructed to take a specific spot in front of the judge. A complex ritual took place now, the court mages drawing complex constellations of symbols on the floor and let their glowing staffs go over the bodies of Kat and Dan, who started glowing faintly. With one final wild motion from the mages, a solid beam of light followed between the girl and the cat for a moment, whose face and muzzle contorted in pain for a moment. When the light dimmed, Dan looked at his hands and felt along his body. "Wow, I'm human again...and older too, I'd almost forget this was a girl's body." Kat, now her namesake, looked at her forepaws and mewled softly. Though she was still able to speak, she decided not to for now and just sighed. "As far as this is concerned, the victim and defendant may leave if they so wish. The rest of the trial will concern the goblin's sentence for contempt of court."
