"This is incredible," Lina said regarding her friend's new cat features. "So the gloves are enchanted, but how did the rest of you change?"
"Well, I got the hair and ears from this funky thing that looked like an industrial hair drier," Amy answered. She was pressing her paws together in a testy sort of way, seeing how they felt and moved. "And I got my tail from a chair. It was kinda painful."
"Can you show me?" Lina said. If she was trying to hide her eagerness, it wasn't working. Amy shrugged.
"I kinda want to do something about the fact that I have no thumbs," she replied. Still, Lina gave her a pleading look which she couldn't ignore. In a few minutes they were at the chair with the metal device in the back. Amy showed Lina how to work it.
Lina stuffed her hands in her pockets. "I don't have a quarter," she said. "Hey, can you spot me? I'll pay you back." Without waiting for an answer, she reached into one of Amy's pockets.
"Hey!" the catgirl yelled, trying to grab Lina's hand as it took away twenty-five cents. Her paws, however, couldn't dream of grabbing anything. Lina smiled as she sat down in the chair and prepared to drop the quarter into the slot.
"Okay, choose an animal..." she said brightly to herself. "I think I'll go with..."
