"Squirrel, huh?" said Amy.
"I've wanted to be one since I was, like, four," said Lina, "Thanks for bringing me to this store, girl! I owe you one big-time!"
Lina winced as the machine pulled a fluffy red tail out of her butt. Once the pain was gone, Lina stood up and cradled her new tail in her arms. "Oh my God!" she cheered, "I have a real squirrel tail! This is so <i>cool!<i>"
"Yeah, yeah, very nice," grumbled Amy, "But can we find some way for me to pick things up?"
"Just a minute," said Lina, "I just started my transformation into an anthropomorphic squirrel! Can't I take it just a <i>little<i> further first, hmm?"
"Fine, a little," said Amy, "But then you'll have to take a break and help me."
"Deal," said Lina as she bounced off to find something to further her transformation. She searched aisle after aisle, finally finding the one the cat gloves and slippers must have originally come from. "I think I'll just put on the slippers. Don't want to end up like you, after all!"
Amy hissed. "Did that come out of me?" she gasped. But she had to admit she kind of liked it.
Lina picked out a pair of red squirrel slippers. She slipped on the left slipper. She felt a strange tickle as the slipper merged with her body. She ran her fingers through her stubby new toes. It was true: the slipper was now her foot. Nearly bursting with delight, she giddily slipped on the right slipper, laughing blissfully as she felt the tingle of transformation.
"Look at my new squirrel feet, Amy!" Lina laughed as she wiggled her furry toes.
"I have to admit," Amy smiled faintly, "they're pretty cool."
"Hey," said Lina, "What's this?" She picked up a glove and found a tag attached.
It read:
<i>FULL-TF WOLF PAW GLOVE -- NOT FOR ANTHROS!!!<i>
"I think that's what you put put on, Amy," said Lina, "A cat version, anyway." Amy groaned.
Lina read the tag on a different pair:
<i>ANTHRO GOAT HOOF GLOVE -- GOOD FOR GRIPPING<i>
"So those let you keep your thumbs?" asked Amy.
"Sounds like it," said Lina. She examined the goat glove. It had two fingers and a thumb, all somewhat thicker than human digits. All three digits had wide, thick nails the color of animal hooves. It truly resembled a cross between a goat hoof and a human hand. "Looks pretty safe," said Lina, "I think I'll try a pair."
Lina found a pair of properly-labeled squirrel gloves. They resembled human hands, but the fingers and thumb were slightly thicker and ended in little claws instead of fingernails. They had pawpads beneath them. She slipped the first one on and felt it merge with her. "So far, so good," she said.
"Need any help with the next glove?" asked Amy.
"Not at all," smiled Lina as she put on the next glove herself. "Voilą! I can pick things up just fine. Hey, maybe if you put a pair of these on over your full-TF pair, you'd get your thumbs back."
"Do you really think so?" said Amy.
"It's worth a shot," shrugged Lina.
