Ramona, was not a believer in the supernatural. If something is odd it's just odd, no unnatural or magical reasons. Yet this time she has the death of a man in a wheat field, a ring in hand. A Bank manager in legal trouble, and a Bull Mooooing all day every day at the sight of the disappearance, just odd!
Ramona thanked the property owner and asked permission come back again later to view the scene. Then entering the squad car she and the Officer drove back to town.
"Strange of that Bull to stand in one place day after day. Most bovines don't have any sense and wander if not coralled, said the Officer."
Ramona's logical mind was running in circles. The Bull seemed a key in this whole scheme of events, yet how could she question a Bull. Two days went by with more evidence about the embezzelment of Bank funds. All information point too directly at the manager of the bank, and he was dead.
On her fourth day she knew she had to visit the auction scene again. As she drove by herself, questions about the case came to mind that didn't fit any pattern.
Driving into the farm property she could see the Bull standing near the fence. Ramona stopped the car near the bull and climbed out of the car and was face to face with the animal.
The beast looked at Ramona without a sound. She could not see any expression in the Bull's face, put she hoped for a sign of intelligence. Even as she thought it the idea of intelligence and facial expression in a Bull was stupid. Standing up Ramona looked down at the bovine and offered the usual question. "If you understand me paw your left rear hoof three times?"
The Bull Moooed, and lifted his left rear hoof pawing the ground three times.
