Kevin, still holding the medallion in one hand, reached down and
picked up his brother's undershorts from the clothing scattered on the
floor.
Jared began whining and yelping, desperate to gain access to the
medallion in the hope of regaining his human body.
"Hush, boy," Kevin snapped. "What's wrong?"
Suddenly, Kevin began to feel strange. As Jared watched, his kid
brother's body began to grow and change.
The kid experienced quite a growth spurt as he shot up out of puberty
and into advanced adolescence. Jared, a witness, realized what had
happened before his brother figured out how he had changed.
For Jared, he could almost have believed he was looking in a mirror.
Kevin had grown a more muscular body and even his features had
changed. Suddenly, as he moved, the medallion in Kevin's hand glinted
in the light.
With a shock, Jared realized what had taken place. By holding the
medallion and underwear, Kevin had transformed into Jared. Jared,
however, remained trapped in canine form.
At the same time, his kid brother stumbled across the room and managed
to look into a dresser mirror. "I'm Jared!" The voice, too, sounded
identical to his older brother's voice.
Jared bounded across the floor and began yelping. Kevin looked down at
the medallion and the barking dog.
He knew the medallion must have caused him to transform into his
brother's body. But, now as he looked down at the German shepherd, he
had another idea.
"Jared?" Kevin asked. "Is that you?"
Jared, excited, barked even more rapidly.
"Wait!" Kevin commanded. "Take it easy. One bark means yes, all
right?"
Jared barked once.
Kevin smiled. "Jared, it is you?"
Jared barked once. Finally, he thought, he was getting somewhere.
"Wow!" Kevin said. He smiled, stretched and admired his reflection in
