It's a long shot - seven feet would be hard to cover in a single jump even if you had a running start, and right now you have to do it from a small chair. Still, you don't have much time to do anything else, with the chair lowering ever closer to that cherry-red pool.
Lifting your feet up, you wait for the chair to lurch down again so that its motion won't mess up your jump. When it does, it moves a full foot this time. Looks like you have less time than you thought. Still, it doesn't matter. All you need to do is jump, and you're out of here. Bringing both feet onto the seat, you slowly stand up, holding the back of the chair for support. Thankfully, the metal bar supporting it doesn't so much as bend, leaving your platform exceptionally sturdy. You space out your two feet as much as you can, bending your knees and lowering your torso, raising your arms back. With a grunt, you swing your arms back forward, at the same time fully extending your legs and launching yourself from the chair.
Amazingly, you actually soar out of it. Everything seems to move in slow motion as the pool of latex rushes past below you, the chair moving further back as the edge of the pool comes ever closer. You've done it! You're going to cover the whole seven feet, you're going to make it over the pool, you're going to get out unscathed! You're... falling! You suddenly realize that you've started plummeting towards the pool, and at far too great a rate to actually clear its wall. You scream, flailing your arms and legs in an attempt to cover more distance, but to no avail. Within seconds, you hear a splash as your feet impact the surface of the pool, and feel your whole body slow down. You barely manage to keep up your momentum enough to reach the wall at all, and end up with your entire body below your waste submerged in that cherry-red latex. Too exhausted to scramble over the wall just yet, you hold yourself there while you can feel the latex flowing into your pants and underpants, down your socks, coating everything it comes in contact with tightly. Finally, you manage to crawl over the wall and get out, but not before everything down there's been very thoroughly covered by that stuff.
