After a few minutes, the man came back. He had taken his mask off and Michelle could see he was about in his forties or fifties years old. He hairs were already becomming gray and he had a mustachoe.
-Can I have the pleasure of knowing my savior name now? asked Michelle.
"Of course" he said.
"My name is John Nathanson. Dr John Nathanson of the special operations to be more precise. Of the very "special" branch to be even more precise".
-So you're with the government, but they had said that..., Michelle tried to say.
-... that the government leaft?, completed John. Yes we had did. But that was under the old President rule who did'nt wanted to be involved in this affair when he learn about it. When the one that we have presently knew of this, he immediatly ordered a "special" branch of the secret services to be formed and to take care of the shit that happened there.
-And that's why..., Michelle tried to say but was too much shocked to
continue her sentence.
-Yes, continued the man, that's why we came back. Those three wolf outside had been on our list for months. They even already killed three of our agent. They litteraly ate them alive. I know, I was there.
Michelle nearly let out a cry of fear at this thought, even more because that the "wolves" were once her friends. And then, a thought came to her and she asked:
-But those... those "wolf" like you call them, they had said that I had become infected with... with...
-The mutagenetic genes, completed the doctor. That how we call it. And to answer your next question, yes it is really in the air. But we are able not to get infected through some kind of "vaccine" that we made. And yes, it is very probeble that you were infected.
Michelle could'nt believe what she was hearing. This morning she had gone with her friend on some picnic only to find that they some kind of mutants or wathever is that they are now called. And now she hear THAT.It was almost too much for her to bear and she began to cry. Then she asked:
-If I am infected, does... does that mean that I'm going to be "on your list" too?
The man that said he was called John then seemed to be lost in thought for a short time and then he said.
-Hmmmm, I think we could say that if you were free, but since you were able to make it here...., he did'nt fnish he sentence has now he seemed lost in thoughts.
Michelle was now becomming nervous, she wanted an answer.
-So what, she asked. So what?
The man then snapped off.
-Okay, I'm gonna tell you bluntly, but that is it. They are'nt a cure for that infection. So we have two choice for you. The first one is euthanasia. I know it's heavy to bear, but at least you'll die a painless death. That is one of the best option we have, the other one..., he paused.
-What is the other, now asked a deseperate Michelle. I don't want to die! And I don't want to become a snarling beast too.
John Nathanson seemed lost in thought. Then he suddenly said:
-The other option, well... just follow me.
