You pull up in the driveway to your home. It was a modest two story house with a guest room, your room, and your sister's room upstairs along with a guest bath and a bath that you and your sister share. The main bed and bath were downstairs with a half bath. There was a modest sized kitchen and dining room off of the main living area. There was a pool out back that you loved to swim in when you weren't in school. You get out and take Jackie out of her car seat.
As you enter your home you here your mother call "Sara! Do you have your costume on yet?"
"Not yet Mom" Sara said. Sara was your sister and had just turned thirteen a couple days ago.
"Well hurry up!" your mother said. "We only have an hour before trick or treating starts."
You're a bit surprised by this. You didn't think that you had been gone that long. Your mother comes out of the kitchen and sees you standing in the front door. "Oh! Hello Molly dear" she said. "Mrs. Jackson is coming by to pick Jackie up. She should be here in about ten minutes. She's bringing Jackie's costume with her so they can go trick or treating right away. Go on up to your room and I'll send Jackie up to get her costume on."
"Ok Mom" you say as you head up to your room. You sit your candy on your bed and go to your closet to get your costume. You didn't know if you wanted to use the magic candy or the costume you bought weeks ago. Maybe you could combine them. You look at the costume you had bought and think that you could. You were dressing up as a neko princess and there was a hole in the dress for the tail. You didn't like the fake ears and tail and the candy would take care of that.
While you were pondering whether to use the candy to become a real neko or not your sister came in through the bathroom and asked "Could you help me Molly?"
"Of course" you said. "What do you need help with?"
"I need help with this dress" Sara said. "I need it zipped up."
"Is that all?" you asked. "I thought it was going to be something difficult."
"The zipper goes all the way up and I'm not -that- flexible" Sara said.
"I know that" you say and giggle.
Sara also giggles and says "Sure you did."
"Well I'll need help with my zipper too you know" you said.
"Well I'll zip you up when you get your costume on" Sara said.
You both giggle as you zip Sara's dress up. There's a knock on your door and you hear Jackie ask "Can I come in?"
"Of course you can" you said. "I'm supposed to help you put on your costume after all."
Jackie came in with her fairy princess costume. It was a pretty costume and you thought that she'd look very pretty once it was on. As you helped Jackie out of her dress Sara asked "Would it be alright if I had a piece of candy Molly?"
Thinking that she had meant candy from the bowl on your dresser you say "Help yourself."
"Thanks" Sara said.
"You're welcome" you said as you helped Jackie into her costume. You hear a rustling from your bed but you ignore it thinking that Sara was just moving your bags to sit down.
You hear the rustle again and begin to wonder what Sara was doing when she said "A pink marshmallow ghost. This should be tasty."
You whirl around just in time to see Sara pop the marshmallow ghost into her mouth. You can only stare as she chews it and then swallows.
Sara looks at you and asks "What are you staring at? He he he, I feel all tingly."
You watch as Sara fades into a translucent version of herself. In a couple of seconds she was a ghost. "You shouldn't have ate that candy."
"You said I could though" Sara said.
"I thought you meant the candy on my dresser" you said. "Now we'll have to figure out a way to turn you back."
"What do you mean?" Sara asked.
"Don't you feel funny?" you asked.
"Well I feel like I'm weightless but that's the only thing" Sara said.
"Take a look at yourself" you said.
Sara looks in your mirror and screams "Ahhhhhh! What happened to me!?!"
You hear footsteps running up the stairs and your mom and Mrs. Jackson burst into your room. Upon seeing Sara their faces drain of blood.
Sara looks at your mom and says "Mom! Look what happened to me! Help me please!"
Your mom looks at Sara and stammers "Y-y-you're a g-g-ghost. Y-y-you're d-d-dead."
"I can't be dead!" Sara wailed.
"You're not dead Sara" you said. "You -are- a ghost but you -are not- dead."
"How can that be?" Sara asked.
"The candy you ate is magic" you said. "It transformed you into a ghost."
"It -can't- be magic" Sara said. "Magic doesn't exist."
"You can see it for yourself" you said. "Do you see your body around here that would indicate that you -are- dead."
Sara looks around for a few moments and then said "Well, no. I don't see my body laying on the floor or on your bed."
"So that means that you're -not- dead" you said. "So that leaves the candy being magic as the only other option."
"So if I'm not dead does that mean I can change back?" Sara asked.
"You can change back" you said. "Though I'm not sure how you will."
"What do you mean?" Sara asked.
"Well you can't touch anything now" you said. "That means you can't eat a chocolate ghost to return to normal."
"So I'm stuck like this?" Sara said a hint of panic in her voice.
"You're -not- stuck" you said. "I just need to figure out -how- to change you back. I'll think about it and get you back to normal."
"Do you promise that you can get me back to normal?" Sara asked.
"I promise" you said. "It -might- take awhile but I'll get you back to normal."
"Well in that case I might as well enjoy being a ghost" Sara said. A wicked smile spread across her face. "I bet that I could scare the pants off of anybody now. This could really be fun."
