Rais watched intently as the transformation took its toll on Jeff. His potion was washing away in the shower, but it had already had sufficient effect on his red-haired roommate. Jeff was rapidly losing height, as well as mass, and his state of undress did nothing to hide it. It took but a moment for the rest of his body hair to vanish, leaving the youthening man completely smooth.
Jeff took a step forward, walking out of the shower and dripping on the bathroom rug. He distinctly remembered being around the same height as the dark haired young man across from him, but found himself looking up to meet his gaze.
"Don't do this, man! I didn't mean to badmouth your religion. Really, to each his own, honest!"
"This has nothing to do with your comments, though I believe you are generally sincere about that. In fact, I chose you for this before we even met. I know you to be a good person, and a lonely one. This is for the best for both of us. It is, perhaps, even destiny," said Rais, stepping over to the still-drenched former teenager.
Rais took Jeff by the shoulders, gently moving him over to the bathroom mirror and draping a towel around him. Jeff staired numbly, shocked by what he saw. The image reflected back at him was still him, but not the "him" that he remembered seeing when he got up that morning. Though he could only see from the waist up, as far as he could tell, he wasn't more than 12, and very well may have been younger. It had been a long time since he'd seen that particular face. He looked to be around 5 feet tall, maybe a little more, and he had decent muscle tone for a boy his apparent age. This threw him a little, as he'd been something of a couch potato as a child, and had never been particularly atheletic. His hair was dark from being wet, but he could tell it was noticably lighter than before. His skin was clear, all signs of the ravages of time and acne wiped clean. He touched his cheek, disbelieving, but it was real.
Jeff turned back to look at Rais, hoping for some answers...
