You don't realize how long you've been sitting in thought, but you're snapped out of it when you hear the outside door open and close. Clay must be back from work.
You slowly enter the living room as Clay takes off his coat. He does a double-take when he sees you.
"Woah! I didn't think that was you for a second. What's with the wig?"
You tell him about the sudden growth of your hair, and the strange weight loss. As he comes up to you to tug on your hair, you notice he seems a bit bigger than usual. But that might just be paranoia, with all the other things happening to you.
"Now that you mention it, you do look kinda girly. Not really sure...it's probably just the hair, though.
You tell him that getting a haircut again would be taxing on your wallet. Plus, there was the likely chance it would just grow out again.
He says he knows someone who can do a nice haircut. "She's no professional or anything, but she's cut mine a few times and it looked fine. I'm sure she'll be happy to do yours for free."
You nod and tell Clay to call her. You've got another job interview with a bookstore in a few days, and if your hair keeps growing you're definitely going to need help.
Clay calls his friend and tells you she'll be over tomorrow afternoon. In the meantime, you don't have much of anything to do but wait and worry.
