"What if he doesn't touch it?" asked Dawn
"What?" asked Tanya
"Think about it" said Dawn, "With all of us we got changed because we touched it. Perhaps he if doesn't touch it, he can read us safely."
"Are you stupid?" said Tanya, "We have no idea how this thing works. How do you know if that will make any difference."
"I don't" admitted Dawn, "But so far we don't really have any other leads. I think we should take any chance we have."
"She's got a point" said Rachael
"Fine" said Tanya, "But I don't like putting anyone else in danger like this."
"Ok then" said Dawn, turning to the boy, "We'll let you take a look. Just don't touch it, for your own sake."
Nodding the boy walked up to the corner of the tank upon which the book was placed while the girls opened it up onto a random page. On the page was an image of another mythic, surrounded by the same unusual letters. The boy looked hard at the words. He seemed to both recognise them, yet not, at the same time. However, after a few minutes he told them why.
"The letters are Ancient Greek" he said, "They are slightly different than usual but it seems to be hand-written which would give an explanation. What's odd though, is that the words seem to be in Latin as far as I can tell."
"But what does it say?" asked Tanya
"I don't know" said the boy, "I only know a few words of Greek and even less Latin. I'm afraid without some reference material, I can't tell you anything else. I'm sorry."
"That's ok" said Dawn, "At least we are on the right track now. What's your name anyway?"
"Kalvin" said Kalvin, "Kalvin Park."
There was a sudden thumping noise which took the group by surprise. Looking for the source they saw that the book had fallen to the ground and now lay face-up on the floor. Without thinking, Kalvin bent over to pick it up.
"No!" cried Dawn, "Don-"
