Jeff followed her instincts, cleaning her two fawns and guiding them to her teats. As her new charges, two young bucks, latched on and started to drink, she closed her eyes. Now that the fawns were born, why wasn't she changing back?
The though came to her mind nightly, as her fawns grew stronger and stronger. At first she thought it was a survival issue. Her fawns wouldn't survive without her milk and guidance. So she stuck it out with them. Once the bucks were old enough to fend for themselves, she thought that things would be different.
Fall came, and even as two bucks fought for her she hoped that the program would call her back. Even as she allowed the victor to cover her and impregnate her, she wished for this to end. It was just that she was so much more doe than man now that she didn't really even remember what she was trying to do.
She would go through two more seasons, giving birth to five healthy offspring, before something finally changed.
