“I don’t understand! What happened?! What is going on?! Why are you like that?!” Alisa was shouting with her eyes daring all over Ethan and Luke’s body with fear. “Suzie! Get in the car! We’re leaving!!!.” She bolted out of the room and slammed the door behind her.
“Alisa, wait!” “Mom, come back!” Both Ethan and Luke tried to run to the door but Ethan’s jeans slid down their waist causing them to trip and fall. They were still learning how to move as one when they opened the door and ran to the top of the stairs. “Wait! Don’t leave!” they both called. But it was too late. The front door was already closing. As they raced downstairs they could hear the car pulling out of the driveway and speeding up the street.
“That went over well,” Ethan sighed looking at his son.
“Hey, I can’t help it if the zipper got stuck and that she freaked out! Besides, I seem to remember this being your idea…” Luke was saying, but he was interrupted by the growling sound coming from their stomach. “Dam, I forgot how hungry I was. I should have eaten something before leaving the mall.”
“Wait a second. Didn’t your mom come up to tell us dinner was ready? Want to go see what she made?” Ethan asked as he started to walk into the kitchen without waiting for Luke’s answer.
Luke was rubbing their stomach as it growled again, “Yah, I’m so hungry I don’t really care what it is.” It was a simple dinner, some chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and rice. “Ug, why is there always rice, I never eat it!” Luke sighed.
“That’s ok. I don’t really like the potatoes. How about you eat those, and I eat the rice?” Ethan had begun scooping food onto their plate.
“Sure, but who gets to eat the rest?” Luke was grabbing a fork and knife.
“We’ll just have to take turns.” With that settled Ethan and Luke sat down and began the hard task of trying to eat with only hand. After a few minutes of arguing over who should be doing what, they managed to get the hang of things.
“Mmm, that was good” Luke was patting their bare belly.
“Yah, I’m surprised that was enough for both of us.” Ethan burped and took a drink from his glass.
“Well that’s because we share a stomach, so we don’t need to eat as much…” Luke turned to his dad with a smile, “besides, you could stand to lose some weight!”
“Ha, I could stand to lose that whole side of yours!” Ethan joked back. He punched Luke in what would have been his right shoulder, but hit the space between their necks. “Ow.” Ethan was saying as they fell out of the chair banging their heads together.
“Double ow.” Luke laughed as he rubbed his head. The two lay laughing, as they jokingly tried to push each other away. After a few minutes of, ‘get away from me’ ‘no, you first’ they turned towards each other and let out light sighs.
“What should we do now?” Ethan asked.
