James walked around the house for what seemed like ages. The whole place was confusing. IT seemed like everywhere he turned, he'd end up back in the same place. Plus, all these wax statues staring at him with those glassy, far-away looks. Creepy.
James was still worried about Zack and when he passed the egyptian exibit, he had to do a double take. Where did the statue of king tut go? confused, James crossed the velvet rope and looked around. As he passed the sarcophagus, he tripped and crashed through the cardboard background. He tumbled and landed on his back in a secret room.
"Ow."
Getting up, James looked around the room he had just crashed into. It was a library. There were rows of shelves filled with books of multiple sizes. James' inner geek felt like he'd died and gone to heaven. James' sense of mind just thought this was weird.
"Who would put a library behind an exhibit?" he asked himself as he looked around. He looked around and there, in the middle of the library was a podium with a single, leather bound book. It's pages were dry and looked like they would turn to dust the minute he touched it. JAmes walked over and cautiously turned the pages.
He turned it to the front cover. "The Book of Alchemy." he read out loud. James made an intrigued expression. Alchemy. He had learned about that on the internet. Alchemy was the process of turning one material into another. Like stone into gold. James found a book mark in the book and traced it to a chapter one human transmutation. A few pages were torn out, but looking at the table of contents, James found the missing pages to be about turning the human body into things like wax, silver, gold, and glass.
"What the hell? Is this for real? Who would believe in this stuff? Hey, what's this?"
As James read the page he found, he was unaware of three wax mummies walk into the room. They marched towards him, their bandages moving wildly like snakes, ready to coil around the unaware boy.
