James heard the crunch of cardboard from behind him, and spun around to see three wax mummies moving toward him. He needed a weapon, and the only thing in his hand was the book. So he raised the book up over his head. To his surprise the mummies stopped and dropped to their knees and began to worship him. No, not him - it was the book. He slowly lowered the book and looked at the cover. It was bound in metal and there was a gilded green and red stone scarab, and some Egyptian hieroglyphs.
James studied the book cover and discovered that the scarab was removable - on the back of it was an old style non-safety pin. He secured the pin to the front of his shirt. Then he studied the book. This was the Eqyptian Book of the Undead, the third and most secret of the sacred ancient Egyptian Texts. In the Mummy movie the Book of the Dead and the Book of Life were used to resurrect mummies. This text allowed the high priests to convey life to inanimate objects using the wax of the life. James turned to the entry regarding the living wax. James was grateful that someone had written an English translation in pencil in the margins hetween the hieroglyphics. His eyes widened as he read that the essence of youth (male teenagers) were the best source of the living wax.
"Zack, Ben, Mitchel - I hope they're okay," he said to himself looking at the three wax mummies and wondering if they might be his friends already transformed. He moved in to more closely examine the mummies.
