Max continued to struggle for a moment, but Mark's thoughts poured into their shared mind, leaving them motionless as they lay on the ground. Mark shared everything Zack had told him earlier in the day, about how he felt he was being treated, and how Zack felt like they didn't want him around and could only get their attention by acting like a little kid. They sat up as their eyes began to water, "What the hell? Why didn't he ever say anything?"
"I don't know..." Mark began pulling their heads back apart so they were on the same shoulders. Mark looked over and wiped away the tear running down Max's face. "But I don't want him to feel like that. It hurts to think we do that to him."
"So that's why you two have been together all day?"
"At first, ya, I was just doing it to make him feel better." Mark continued, "But it didn't take long before I was really enjyoing it! He's a lot of fun to hang around with and more mature than we give him credit for." Mark paused for a minute, letting it all sink into Max and could see that he was really taking it in. Mark smiled and hugged his other half, "I'm sorry about the twin thing. That was crossing the line, and I won't do it again."
"It's ok." Max sighed, "You can if you want to. I was just... well... you were just inside my head so you should know."
Mark smiled and nodded, "So... friends?"
"Uhh, Brothers?"
"Nah. Twins!" They both started to laugh. Working together they got up and began the long walk back to the parking lot. Along the way they talked about how they should change things with Zack, and try to make him feel more like a brother than just a pest. Max agreed he would try being stuck to Zack at some point. Mark started to laugh, "Well he'll just have to get in line! I want to stay stuck like this for awhile!"
"Ummm, I don't think we have a choice..." Max pointed at the two cars parked side by side.
"Oh... right..." Mark's head dropped, but lifted up right away and smiled, "Well maybe later then!"
