To her horror, the fox creature from before stepped out of the brush into the clearing with his head held high sniffing the air, sniffing for her. Mary’s heart began to race, but as the seconds passed, her mentality began to change from trepidation to anger.
“It’s his entire fault for this happening in the first place!” she thought to herself “Why am I the one hiding when I should be the one hunting him!”
“Damn bushes!” Todd thought aloud as he clumsily stumbled through the bushes. To his relief there was a clearing a few yards ahead. “Finally!” he sighed as he fought on through the brush, but as he did so a faint, but curious scent caught his nose. As if guiding him, he lifted his head up high and let his nose lead him to the source. He stepped into the clearing and continued his steady pace towards a nearby tree…
After a few moments of mental preparation, Mary had convinced herself that she would attack her pursuer, but she would only have one chance…
Todd knew the source was close but still had no idea what he was following. As he rounded a tree, a quick movement caught his eye a second too late and before he knew it, he was on the ground, the left side of his face in agony. “Take that you monster!” he heard a familiar voice scream. The female came at him once again, but this time he was able to react dodging the blow by rolling to the right. She continued to swing her fists violently at him but to little avail and eventually she lost the energy to continue.
“It’s your fault…” she panted heaved over with he hands on her knees, “It’s all your fault!”
He looked at her expecting another flurry of attacks, but as he saw she had lost her steam, he relaxed and answered “I know… and I’m sorry.”
