Carmen had come back the next day, smiling with a bit of mischief that Jean had learned to recognize by now was almost similar to a born-woman's. The sorceress was looking clearly pleased with herself, as she tapped a card against her chin. However, her eyes also had a sort of serious, steely look to them.
"Mistresses. I've evidence of other worlds, just as you asked. Many worlds full of born men yet inexperienced with womanly love."
Jean clapped her hands together in excitement. Greta, however, had the serious look of a hawk. "Are you sure no other planes are as... enlightened?"
Carmen snorted, but nodded. She pulled back a lock of her hair, causing golden chains to jangle slightly. Her expression was now rather serious though, as if she was ready to drop a proverbial bomb.
"There is a 'girl' world based on some silly Japanese shooting game, but that is not what caught my attention. Miss Greta, there are worlds beyond this one that... well. Are you familiar with the concept of demons?"
The two looked intently at Carmen. The pause in the room was close to audible. Only the birds outside the windows dared stir. Carmen continued.
"Extra-planar creatures from the shifting realms closest to chaos. They consume entire worlds, dragging them down and usually killing the inhabitants and expand their various planes."
Greta looked at Carmen rather intensely. "Carmen, explain where you're going with this."
Carmen took a deep breath.
"There is an all-female demon realm owned by a queen named 'Astara'. They seem rather focused on converting all men and women of all worlds into more of themselves. A swarm of locusts whom share your goals... if not your spirit."
Another minute of near silence.
"... and they are close enough that it is only a matter of time before our world and neighboring worlds are discovered by them."
