Mutants, vigilantes, technical wizards, magicians...like any other
people, there were good ones and bad ones. While the world would often
praise teams like The Fantastic Four, or the X-Men, they'd just as soon
scream that something must be done about their superpowered nemeses.
Truth be told, the people feared such superheroes like Superman, or The
Hulk as much as they feared Doctor Octopus, or even the Toyman. On both
sides of the political spectrum, politicians turned supers and what
should be done into a stumping point, winning and losing elections often
on their positions on mutant rights, or super registration, or better
prisons to keep supervillains behind bars.
