The door latch clicked and the bold youth stood with a friendly smile.
"Good day, I'm Randal Parkhurst Esquire and whom do I have pleasure of addressing?"
Jenny stood in awe and then announced, "Jenny Francis Elgone, your new maid, Sir!" she said with a bow.
Randal ushered her inside and taking a hand led her to the maid's quarters. Once there she was introduced to Lylla, Jaybell, Corina, and the butler Simon.
Jenny greeted them all and was quickly spirted away by Jaybell. As duties were mentioned the maid took Jenny to one side for a talk. "Listen deary this Manor is OK to work in but you must watch the Master's son. He has played around with cute maids before and you no exception. Most important is don't under any reason follow him into his lab. The last four girls never came out the same door they went inside! Trust me, cross my heart I know for a fact that Lily now resides in her position as a prize cow in the Master's barn."
Jenny looked at the Maid with a cocked head as if to question her words.
"Hey honey if you want I'll take you to meet Lily. She's a cow, a breeder cow alright and has full memories of her human life. You can ask questions of her and she will answer by thumping her hoof. I'll take you there after dinner tonight, OK?" beconed the Maid.
Jenny nodded but expected it was all a shinning of the new employee by the house staff.
After getting settled in the small room afforded Jenny a knock at her door offered the form of Randall. "My dear may I show you the royal tour of this great house?"
Randall took Jenny and arm in arm he went from third floor to main entry. "Oh but I want to show you my Lab. I test and work on animal breeding methods. The results have increased our Estate's production ten fold. Please come and seen my work first hand!"
Jenny stared at Randall and thought of the maid's warnings. Yet those warning were part of the expected hazing she was to be part of later tonight. So arm in arm they walked down the circular stone stairs.
