You figure you can handle things for now. You don't want to put your school obligations at risk over something that may not be serious. You try to convince yourself you have nothing to worry about.
During history class, however, you have a difficult time doing that. You struggle through a pop quiz the teacher handed out. Not only do you still feel strange, but your hair gets in the way of your vision a bit, and even when you brush it out of the way, it soon goes right back to hanging in front of your eyes.
You're almost finished with the test, but you pause your writing when you notice something about your hand. It looks smaller. Thinner. And so does your arm.
"Time's up," your teacher announces. "Pass your papers forward."
You nearly groan out loud. You could have finished that quiz if it weren't for... But there's no point getting upset. Not right now, at least. You know you can work through whatever is happening. You just have to concentrate harder.
After the quiz, the teacher lectures briefly about the answers to some of the questions, refreshing the students. Some of them you realize you got wrong. You try to listen as best as you can, concentrating on blocking out the weird stuff.
The bell rings, and you quickly grab your bag and continue on. You know something else about you has changed during this period, but you aren't sure what. Maybe you should find out.
