Corbyn Prower was plain out confused as to why he'd ever started walking this direction. He guessed it was mostly because he wasn't thinking, but that was now besides the point. As he kept walking down the alley, which grew strangely brighter and more vivid, he came to the Ornate Obsidian gates.
Now thinking of a different reason to enter rather than a reason to NOT, he goes against all reason and pushes open the large gates, his sense of exploration kicking in. He walks in, and the gates slam behind him, and when he turns to see why, they're not there. He looks around, seemingly alone, and VERY confused. One- He was in america, what was with the Cherry-Blossoms? Two- What was that smell?
He spins in slow circles, just smelling the air, and looking at the trees, amazed at their vibrant coloration. Suddenly, he stops after hearing a voice.
"Son... I knew you'd see me one day..." It was the voice of his mother, who'd disappeared on a walk, about 5 years ago. Corbyn had thought his feelings dimmed or diminished, but now everything had come flooding back.
"Mom..? Where are you..?" He asks, now trying to pinpoint the source. He looks up into a large tree after hearing a soft whistle, and is amazed at the sight of his mother, her face, her shape, her kind eyes... Yet, something was off. He tries to focus, but can't.
She smiles kindly and waves, and drops to the ground gracefully. Her long white dress with pink floral patterns barely touching the ground. "I missed you so much, not being able to leave..." Her ears twitch, and that's when corbyn notices the difference. Her ears were, for one, on top of her head, and two, pointed and coated in white and black fur. Behind her, sticking out of her dress is a 4 ft. long tail, white with black at the tip.
"Am I dead..?" He asks himself, now just lost. "Am I dreaming?"
His mom laughs a little and hugs him. "I'd hope it weren't the first... and it's most definentally not the second." She shakes her head, lost in the moment.
Corbyn returns the hug. "Mom... I missed you so much..." he starts watering at the eyes, his feelings showing themselves. "It's been so long... and all this time, you've not even been 100% human..."
His mom just nods, still holding him. "It's been too long, and it all started when I was on a walk, and found these large gates in front of me... When I openend them, some man was there, and said I wasn't allowed in... He said some words, and then motioned for me to enter. After that, I've been living here, in these woods..."
And at that moment, there's a roar of displeasure from a distant clearing. "Anna! We do not allow humans here!!!"
