She began to circle you again, constantly trotting infront of you. You could not follow her path as you can't turn around. "C'mon it'll be fun, run with me" she called teasingly "I'll show you the best spots in the park."
You try again to turn to her, but your legs got tangled. You fell to the floor in a huge grey heap. She trotted carefully over.
"Now that's not how you do it" she says chuckling slightly "c'mon, get up and I'll show you how it's done"
You rise shakily to your paws and she presses her warm body close to yours. You can smell her as she speaks to you, smell her warm fur and hot breathe.
"Just put one foot in front of the other slowly" she says demonstrating. You mirror her actions, placing the tip of your right paw on the soft grass. "Now place it down and move your weight onto it." Yet again she demonstrates. You copy again.
Suddenly you realise what just happened, you'd accepted your body. There was no going back now. You placed forward the next paw, not waiting for your companion to guide you. You break into a small run, not stumbling or wobbling. Your lupine instincts guide you as you begin to run through the park. You can hear your female counterpart chasing after you through the dense undergrowth. You can hear everything, each little bird in the trees, the wind rushing through you long grey fur. You stop suddenly and the she-wolf slams into the back of you.
"What's the matter?" She asks worriedly.
"Everything in this forest was once human" you stammer "what about all the families, all the worried parents and children?"
"They come here too" she explains "they come here to search and find the book, it is inevitable." You stare horrified at her.
"So this is fate, I was always meant to come here!" you explain to yourself" does this mean my family will come here?"
"Maybe, if they knew you where coming here" she says soothingly "even if not, you've still got me."
You turn to her. Maybe things aren't so bad, afterall you came to the forest to get away from your family and friends and work. Now you could permenantly go without them if you wanted.
You decide to...
