The girls watched the movie and spent some time afterward gabbing about the enjoyable but silly plot, and the actors' attractiveness.
"Shawn was definitely the hottest," Lina said coyly, "but I bet you're more the 'Margie's Brother Steve' type."
"Oh, shut up would you!" Lina giggled, playfully tossing a pillow at Lina's face.
Lina caught the pillow as it fell in her lap and her eyes turned fierce. "What the hell do you think you're doing? NEVER throw anything at me AGAIN!" She raised the pillow as if to throw it back.
Amy scrambled to the other end of the sofa like a mouse, covering her face with an arm. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I don't know what came over me!"
Lina's expression relaxed and she looked at the pillow she was holding. "No...no, I'm the one who's sorry, Amy. All night I've been feeling like my mind goes to another place. You've been doing so many nice things for me today, and I've repaid you by acting like a spoiled brat. I'm so sorry for being mean to you. I'm honestly going to try being nicer." As she spoke, she inched her way across the couch until she was close enough to pet Amy's hair.
Relaxed by Lina's gentle voice and touch, Amy began to feel better. "I can't explain why I've been doing these things for you, either," she sniffed. "But more and more it feels like that's what I need to do. You're more than a friend to me, Lina."
"Same here," Lina smiled. Seeing Lina being so comforting made Amy crack a smile too.
"Do you...do you want me to leave?" Amy asked, desperately hoping the answer was "no."
