"Can I have that book?" Amy pointed excitedly.
"This one?" The wizard pointed as well, his expression turning to amusement. "Why, my dear, as you may realize this is no ordinary tome but a spell book. It possesses untold powers, the ability to control life and death, the words and incantations to shape the cosmos! Such power is vested in the hands of those with control and many hundreds of years of learning." The wizard chuckled to himself. "Sadly, you are mortal, and would have long grown old and passed away to the Other Side before you had even begun your teachings. So, unfourtunately, my dear, no."
Amy's face fell and she found herself sulking. She had really wanted that book. "Well, that sucks."
"Indeed?" The man stared, trying to understand what it meant to suck. Mortals these days. "B-But!" He quickly corrected, chuckling as he raised a finger into the air. "But! For you, my lovely young lady, I will offer a special treat. For just ten mortal dollars I will gladly change whoever or whatever you'd like using my considerable talents." He puffed out his chest and held the sides of his robe in each hand proudly. "It's a good offer."
"Hmmm..." Amy considered. "Ten bucks, huh?"
"Indeed! For whatever you wish." The man chuckled, his eyes sparkling. "Quite the value, I'd say!"
Amy quickly reached into her pocket and threw a ten bill on the counter. "Kay! Done!" She held her palm to her chin and smirked. "Let's see..."
"Do take your time." The man leaned against his worn counter. "You should get your money's worth."
