"As much fun as this has been, I think I should split off, and leave you two. I have to head to dinner ready." Dan turned his head to see the reaction of Sean and Jay, and both of them nodded in agreement. Without hesitating, Sean and Jay started pushing themselves from Dan, who was doing the same to them. Everything was going fine, Dan had his own body and limbs, but just as he was almost done, the hand he was using to push seemed stuck. "Oh what the heck?" He tried to yank his hand free, but Jay and Sean were pulled along with it.
"Ow!" Sean and Jay said in unison.
"Sorry, but this is just silly." Dan put his right hand on Sean's right shoulder and gave one final push. Dan's left hand came free, but now his right hand was stuck. "Seriously?!"
"Hold on a minute." Sean saw that Dan's hand wasn't just stuck to his shoulder, but had become part of it. Jay noticed too, so to test it out, he used his left hand and touched Dan's chest. Sure enough Dan's hand was now free. Sean rolled his eyes, "It would seem like we can only split so far, but some part of all three of us has to stay connected to the other two at all time."
"What?" Dan cried.
"That's just dumb!" Jay didn't sound to happy, "Sean, how did you do this?" Sean explained what he did and before he knew it, Dan and Jay were pulling him back to where he left the device. "Ok Sean, time to undo this for now. We can try again later."
"Ok sure." Sean looked at the chronivac. "Oh no..."
"What is it?"
"What's wrong?"
Sean stared in horror, not sure how he would break the news. The chronivac had learned that Sean saved after every change, so it automatically saved for him this time. "Um, I'm not sure how to say this..." Jay and Dan exchanged a worried glance. "But we're stuck."
"Stuck?!" Dan shouted.
"Stuck as in?" Jay looked about quickly at Dan, and at his and Sean's body.
"Stuck as in it's a good thing were best friends because we won't be getting apart." Sean could see the anger, fear, and shock in each of their faces, and knew he had the same look too.
