The next morning, Sean was getting ready to go to the mall. He saw the amulet on his dresser and thought, "I'll bet I could pawn this off and get that new game I've been wanting..." He took it to "Perkin's Antique Shop", down town, (it looked pretty old) and haggled until he and Mr. Perkins settled on a price that Sean was happy with.
Sean walked out of the shop oblivious that he'd sold something far more priceless than he could imagine. Then again... Mr. Perkins wasn't much the wiser, but he knew a genuine ancient artifact when he saw one. He was going to have it appraised by an archeologist friend of his as soon as possible, but now he had other things to do.
He had to get ready for the antique show that weekend. "Denise!" He shouted to his assistant. "Watch the counter, I'm going to pack!"
At the end of the day he had loaded all the pieces he was showing onto a truck. He scratched his head and looked around the shop, trying to remember if he had forgotten something. Stumbling on the amulet he'd bought earlier in the day, he thought to himself, "Can't sell it yet, don't know what it's worth... but it can't hurt to show it off."
The amulet was going with him to the expo, was this the wisest of ideas?
