Megan quickly depart Will's house. She wanted to get home and to try to understand the software she had
installed on her laptop. Her heart was beating rapidly, and she could feel that her face was flushed as she
backed out of Will's driveway. She put the car in Drive and hit the accelerator without realizing it. There
was a short screech as her car quickly lurched forward. 'Calm down, Megan. Get home in one piece,' she told
herself.
She ran a few yellow lights on her way home. Fortunately, the cops were not interested in chasing a four-door
Honda Civic that happened to beat a red light. She continued unimpeded to her apartment complex. She pulled
into her private garage and leaped out of the car, not looking around to confirm no one was there to bother
her. She hurried to the elevator and jumped when the lift finally opened. A conversation through the door
told her she needed to wait for it to empty before jumping on board.
The elevator door opened to reveal Sandra and Karen, Megan's neighbors. They were dressed up in high heels,
tight, short skirts and plunging necklines. Sandra's long black hair was carefully draped over her shoulders
while Karen had her's curled. "Hey, Megan, we're going out. Want to come?" inquired Karen. Sandra nodded in
agreement.
"Ahhh... I have something I need to work on," she stuttered.
"Oh, common on. You've been working a lot lately. Just a couple of drinks and relax, hun," Sandra encouraged.
"No, I... I really need to spend some time on this. Next time, okay?"
Sandra shot her a frown. "Alright, next time. You need to get out, girl!"
"I know. I've got a few changes taking place in my life."
"Will?" Karen asked.
Megan shrugged her shoulders. "I'll tell you about them. I promise." The elevator tried to close on her and
Megan interrupted it. "We'll have a girl's night out." The door closed, separating her from the two women.
'We'll have a lot of fun, too.' she thought to herself as she consider a few changes to make to her Sandra and
Karen. Karen was a close friend but Sandra had burned Megan a few times. A smile formed as she pondered
Sandra running around on the floor. Their complex didn't welcome pets, though.
Megan waited as patiently as the elevator slowly climbed to the fourth floor. She went to the door
anticipating its opening. she jumped into the empty landing and immediately went left then right as she had
done many times before. She skipped to her apartment and fumbled with the computer and the keys. She
steadied the computer and finally inserted the keys into the lock. A quick turn and the lock released. She
rushed into the dark apartment and closed the door behind her. Sensing she should secure the door, she set
the lock and went to her kitchen. She turned on the light over the table and placed the laptop and the
emitter on the table. She plugged in the laptop and then opened the laptop. A familiar login screen popped
up and she unlocked the computer.
After 15 seconds to restart, the Chronivac program popped up. "Ready for Next Request," it said.
Megan's lips parted slightly. Her heard was beating strongly. 'I want to understand what all this Chronivac
can do.'
She directed the mouse to the wizards menu and reviewed her choices.
