It took about ten minutes for Kevin and Kyle to get outside. First, they had gone up the Kevin's room. Kyle had argued that he didn't want to get into Kevin's swim speedo that the school made them wear for practice. They decided to go with some shorts instead, and on the way back down the stairs, Kevin stopped abruptly, causing them to nearly fall the rest of the way. He dragged Kyle back upstairs, and grabbed a towel. Finally they were outside, and Jake was waiting eagerly. He was already in their backyard pool with his goggles on. "Are you guys ready now?!"
"Ya ya, we're coming." Kevin stopped himself and Kyle at the edge of the pool. They glanced at each other, and Kevin looked down at their chest. Kyle did too, not really sure why until Kevin started to take their fused shirt off. Kevin threw it on one of their chairs, and the two boys stared down at their body. 'Our body' Kyle thought to himself. They had both known they were fused, but seeing themselves like this for the first time was strange for both of them.
"Hmm." Kevin slowly ran his hand down their chest, where his half met Kyle's. There wasn't a very distinct line down the middle, but you could tell by looking, that the two halves of their chest were different. Kevin couldn't help but wonder if they were that vague difference ran right down the middle of them. He shook the feeling away and looked at Kyle.
The same thing was going through his head as well. When Kevin shook, Kyle looked at him, "Wow, we're really... half me, half you, huh."
Kevin nodded slowly, taking a deep breath, "Ok, let's start Jake." Him and Kyle eased themselves down the steps in the water. "Ok, so first. I want you to practice this..." Kevin lifted his leg to float, and proceeded to show Jake how to do a type of swimming stroke. However, with Kyle attached, it looked like he was flailing in a circle around Kyle.
Kyle had been unprepared for the whole thing, and having be dragged half under water, swallowed a great deal of it. He pulled Kevin up and was coughing, "Dude! Really?! Are you trying to get yourself attached to a body with a dead head?!"
"Sorry..." Kevin sounded annoyed, "I'm not sure how this is going to work..." Kevin thought for a moment as Kyle cleared out his throat. "Jake... Why don't you just do your usual today? Because... well, ya." He pointed to his and Kyle's chest. "Sorry about this... But I'll be right here watching, ok."
"Ok!" Jake had been giggling to himself as he watched his brother and Kyle try to swim.
