As if to answer Jake's question, a loud rumbling growl came from their shared belly. Kyle, stifling a laugh, said "Well, I guess we can make some breakfast before he gets here."
Excited and hungry, Jake nodded. "Alright! I'm starved... oops. I mean we're starved." Jake corrected. "We're so hungry; I think we could eat a whole pile of pancakes."
"Lets just stick with cereal and milk for now." Kyle replied. Jake agreed, so they stood back up and awkwardly walked down stairs into the kitchen. Both had to reacquaint themselves with their old walking system. Lets just say it was much easier, for both of them, when they were attached to someone of the same height. It basically looked like they had a huge limp whenever they took a step, and so they nearly tripped a few times before getting used to each other again.
In the kitchen, Jake pointed to where the cereal was kept. He tried reaching it, but his arm was just a few inches too short. Kyle happily opend it up though. Arguing over cereal wasn't going to be a problem considering there was only one box, Captain Awesome's and Night Wing's and Heroic Mix. It had a picture of Captain Awesome and Nightwing in a heroic pose in their merged form. "I did't think they made this cereal anymore." Kyle took the box down and handed it to Jake to hold. It brought back old memories of himself as a kid eating the same cereal.
"The bowls are over there" Jake pointed to the cabinet across from them. As Kyle took out a bowl, Jake explained how he begged his mother for that cereal after finding it in the grocery store. Kyle then held the bowl steady while Jake poured the cereal. Leaving the box of cereal on the counter, Kyle and Jake grabbed the carton of milk from the fridge and a glass of water from the same cabinet the bowls were in. Their teamwork was top notched now, and showed when they didn't spill a single drop of milk.
After putting the milk back, Jake grabbed the bowl of cereal and Kyle grabbed his glass of milk. They almost made it to the table when Jake realized he forgot the spoon. He tried to turn back, and nearly caused them to topple over. Kyle sighed, and walked back with Jake so they could grab a spoon.
At the table now, Jake got busy stuffing his face with spoon fulls of cereal pieces, and Kyle slowly drank his glass of milk while looking at the various family photos on the wall. After finishing more than half of his cereal, Jake looked over at Kyle. He felt kind of guilty. "Hey Kyle, do you want to finish it?"
Kyle smiled, "Uh... sure, thanks." He accepted the spoon from Jake quickly finished the rest of the cereal. With their small breakfast finished, Jake and Kyle took their dishes to the sink and left them their to be washed later. No sooner had they set down the dishes, a noise came from the door. Jake and Kyle instantly froze and stared at each other with wide eyes. "Maybe it is just my brother" Kyle said hopefully. But before they could make another move, the squeaky door opened.
