Cassandra had finished putting on the floral dress that had once been her t-shirt and overalls. It was a good thing the fairy changed them, as they would’ve been quite restrictive to her new wings. “My wings.” Cassandra said.
Cassandra stood up, spread her wings and began to flutter them. In no time at all, she was off the ground and high in the air. The fairy took off after her. Cassandra never felt so free before; she dove and soared around the clearing of the oasis, giggling like a schoolgirl the whole time. When the fairy caught up and started flying alongside her, Cassandra said, “This is amazing! It’s like I always knew how to fly, but I’d just forgotten.”
“I think you’ll find you know many things that you never knew about. Plus, I can teach you so much more. Oh, sorry; where are my manners? My name’s Felicity.”
Cassandra stopped and hovered in midair. She shook Felicity’s hand. “Nice to meet you Felicity, I’m Cassandra; and, for the record, you’re beautiful too.” The handshake turned into a gentle clasping of their hands.
The two fairies hovered in midair, staring into each other’s eyes, the rapid beating of their hearts matching the flutter of their wings. They slowly leaned in and gently placed their lips upon the other’s.
