You leap back up into the air and begin flying around the clearing again, giggling like never before. “Oh man, Bethany would freak if she…” You suddenly stop in midair and slowly land. “Bethany!”
“Who’s Bethany?” Chrysanthemum asked. “A friend?”
“More than that, much more. She’s my best friend; we’ve known each other our whole lives. Princess, I know I agreed to keep your secret but from Bethany? I can’t do that to her; so, please; can you turn Bethany into a fairy?”
“You have truly spoken from the heart. I cannot say no to such a passionate request. Come, we must conceal ourselves.” Chrysanthemum pulled out her wand, and instinctively, you pulled your own wand out, too. Holding them up, you wave them around yourselves. “We are concealed from the eyes of all mortals.”
As the two of you fly through the forest, you ask the Princess. “Wait, if you can hide yourselves, how was I able to see you?”
“I kind of forgot to cast the spell when we gathered.” She said, sheepishly.
Soon, you reach a campsite and you lead the Princess to your tent. Using your wand, you open the tent, the two of you enter and you close it. You see Bethany, sleeping like a log. “Figures, lazy girl.”
Chrysanthemum taps her wand between Bethany’s eyes. “She will now be able to see us, rouse her.”
You take a deep breath and scream. “HEY, WAKE UP!!!”
Bethany woke up with a shout. “I told you not to wake me like…” Bethany’s eyes grew wide seeing that her friend was 9 inches tall with a glowing body and hovering in the air on fairy wings. “Wha-what the f-f-FAIRY?”
“Neat, huh? I’m a fairy now.”
“B-but how?”
You point to the princess. “This is Princess Chrysanthemum, she made me a fairy, and she agreed to make you one as well.”
“This has to be a dream!” Bethany said.
“A dream, come true!” You said. “Trust me, you won’t regret it.”
Bethany looks at the princess. “Chrysanthemum was it? Make me a fairy!”
Chrysanthemum nods and once again takes a deep breath, purses her lips and blows a plume of dust that surrounds Bethany, and absorbs into her. She rapidly shrinks, her clothes change into a green ball gown, her skin takes on the glow of a fairy, and what you couldn’t see on yourself; her eyes became framed in a green eye shadow like coloring while her lips turned a vivid pink.
Your heart begins to race as you watch her ears elongate and her wings slowly emerge from her back. Bethany had completed her transformation into a fairy.
As she looked over her body, she took a short hop into the air and fluttered her wings. Your own heart fluttered as well. Somehow seeing her as a fairy was like seeing her in a new light. When she landed, she squealed, “I’m a fairy! Thank you Chrysanthemum, and thank you…” When she looked at you, she froze. You slowly walk toward her, place your hands on her cheeks as she wrapped her arms around the small of your back. You gaze into each other’s eyes and give each other a passionate kiss.
