The front door closed, and Josh turned, leaning back on it. He let himself slide to the floor with Kevin, as tears started to build in his eyes again. He put his arm across his knee, bending his head, and curling into a ball before crying.
Kevin was feeling a little trapped. He couldn't get away, and felt he had to say something. "Josh it's ok..."
"No it's not..."
"Yes, Josh..."
"NO!" Josh lifted his head and looked at Kevin, "It's my fault!"
"No it isn't!" Kevin put his hand on Josh's arm, "You guys really shouldn't have been having a shower together like that..."
"That's not what I meant!" Josh yanked his arm free. He wiped his face on Kevin's shirt sleeve, as they were now wearing his clothes, then stood up. He and Kevin wobbled a bit more, "It's my fault, all of it!" Kevin tried to get a word in but Josh cut him off before he could start. He pointed down at their newly shared body, "This! Kyle, Dan! You and your brother! All of it!"
"What are you talking about?" Kevin was trying to calm Josh down. He had only heard about what Josh had done to Kyle when he was angry, and didn't want to experience it first hand.
Josh started to walk to the living room, forcing Kevin to move along with him. "I'm the one who started this... Kyle took something of mine. And wanting revenge... I took something of his... this chain." They sat down on the couch, and Kevin could feel the mix of emotions in Josh start to settle. "Then me and him fused together, and started this whole chain of events... All because I wanted revenge. Revenge..." Josh's eyes started to water again, "And now Kyle..." The sadness was turning into anger again, and Josh look up at the ceiling, "Is this want you wanted Mr. Smith?! Is it?! Is this fun now?!"
Kevin was starring wide eyed at Josh, thinking he had lost his mind, "Are you ok? Who's Mr. Smith?"
"What are you stupid?!" Josh was about to lay into Kevin, but remember he had been with Kyle at the time. He cleared his throat, and tried to stay calm. "He's the store owner, where Kyle bought these." Kevin nodded slowly but still looked a bit confused, "he's been watching us this whole time. Hell he even came here last night to see if we wanted to give them back."
"And you didn't?!" Kevin shouted, "Are you guys crazy?! That would solve everything!"
Josh shook his head and looked at Kevin, "It would also reset everything to before this all start. You and Kyle wouldn't be friends." Josh paused as the information hit Kevin.
"I see... but still..."
"Your his best friend." Josh looked away and stared into space. "I haven't seen him smile, or laugh, or be just plain happy since he and Dave stopped hanging out. But then you guys met and... I couldn't send him back to being how he was."
"Wow..." Kevin put his hand on Josh's shoulder and gave it a light squeeze, "I never knew you had this soft side. You really love him, huh?"
"He's my little brother..." Josh looked at Kevin like he was stupid, "Of course."
"Ya, I know what that's like."
"Ya, and I'm starting to know why Kyle likes being stuck to you so much." Josh smirked and gave Kevin a gentle punch, "You two are a lot like. Like I said, it's as if you guys were made to be each others second head."
