“W… where am I?” the fairy asked.
“At my house; you were hurt pretty bad, but I brought you back here and treated your wounds.”
The fairy looked over her body. She closed her eyes and a ripple of light spread throughout her body. Her bruises slowly vanished and when she peeled off the bandages, there was no trace of her cuts; not even any scars. Even her dress was repaired. The fairy stood up and said, “My name is Goldenrod.”
“Hello, Goldenrod; my name is Iris. What you did just now; was that… magic?”
“Yes, and for helping me out of the kindness of your heart, I shall allow you to make use of my magic for any one wish you may desire.”
“A wish?” Iris said. “No, you don’t need to do that.”
“It is by law of the goddesses that I am obligated to grant this wish.”
“So, I can have anything I want? Just how powerful is your magic.”
“Quite powerful, and if your wish exceeds it, I can beseech the goddesses to grant me whatever additional power I need.”
“Okay, I’m getting the picture here.” Iris said. “Now, this is nothing against your character or anything, but I’ve read a lot of stories about this situation and sometimes the wished in those stories get… let’s say ‘skewed’.”
“I assure you, your wish will be granted as you fully intend for it to.”
With the last bit of reassurance, Iris thought for a moment.
