Becky groans and rubs her head. It feels like she’s got a hangover and she feels completely drained. She tries to remember what happened the last hours, but no matter how hard she tries she can’t remember anything since she putted on that collar. Suddenly she realise how quiet everything is. Have I become deaf, maybe? She thinks to herself. She sits up on her haunches and opens her eyes. “I have hands!” she exclaims in English and no longer in canine.
She holds up her hands in front of her face and she looks like as if she’s got a visit from an old friend she didn’t expect to see again. She just as surprised to see her hands as she was when she discovered that her hands had become paws, when she got changed into a husky. A canine whine and a yip suddenly caught her attention. She knows that Iiumni tries to talk to her in canine, but she can’t understand him any longer. She begins to feel sorry for him, as she knows how much he loves her. “I’m Sorry Iiumni, but I can’t understand you…” Iiumni whines again and walks up to Becky and nuzzles her and give her cheek a few warm canine licks. As he stops licking, he bite the collar that still hangs around Becky’s neck and tugs. Becky grabs her collar and look at it. “Hmm… you’re right, I should probably take this off…” She begins to take it off.
“I wouldn’t touch that If I were you, since that’s the only thing that’s keeps you human… so you shouldn’t take it off, unless you want to become a dog again…” The musher says as he stands in the door to the kennel.
