"Hey look what I found." Hannah said to her brother who looked at it uninterested.
"It looks like a ring mom would have in her jewelry box like all the other ones she has." Sam replied.
It seemed somewhat different to Hannah so she put it in her pocket. Her suspicion was proven correct later at school during class as her teacher was giving some boring math problem. Her teacher was of the more elderly teachers at her school.
'Boring,' Hannah thought to herself. 'I wish she was younger so that we might be a little more interested in her math lessons.' To the shock of Hannah, her teacher did start changing, although she seemed the only one who noticed the changes. Her teacher's short hair became a long fiery red, her body lost a lot of weight and once it was all over, her teacher looked to be only thirty years-old when she knew she was really seventy five.
Once School was over, Hannah met up with Sam to tell him what had happened.
"Sam, you won't believe this; my teacher went from an old lady to someone who just got out of college."
"That's crazy, you know Ms. Lyle has only been teaching here for two years."
"Two? I thought she had taught here for thirty? Wait, I just realized something." Hannah reached into her pocket and pulled out the ring she had found in the attic earlier that morning.
"I bet this is a wishing ring and I must've unintentionally wished Ms. Lyle younger."
"No way, if you did then how come I don't remember her being older?"
"Maybe because only those who touch the ring can remember what happened."
"Well I want to remember the next wish you make."
"Alright, when we get home we'll think of something to wish for."
Hannah and Sam arrived home and heard their mother yelling at their father again.
Sam suddenly had an idea for a wish.
"Hey let's wish..."
