Jane rarely had the house to herself and her 18-month-old baby Molly asleep at the same time. She wouldn’t waste this opportunity to get comfortable in her true form.
Closing her eyes, and taking a deep breath, her body slowly shrank along with her clothes, which also developed slits in the back. She enchants all of her clothing to change along with her. Her ears elongated and tapered into points and thin antennae sprang from her forehead. She must have been around 9 inches when she stopped shrinking.
Then she hunched over a little, as four crystal clear and sparkling sheets emerged from the slits in her blouse; her fairy wings. They grew wider and wider until finally, they stopped. When Jane stood upright, the bottom pair nearly touched the ground as the top pair reached far above her head.
Just then, Molly stirred awake and fussed. Jane flew over to her room and hovered just over her baby’s crib. A gentle stoke of Molly’s cheek with her hand was enough to calm her down, and a short lullaby lulled her to sleep.
Jane flew out of Molly’s room, only to come face-to-face with another member of her family.
