Morgana ran to the door and opened it, anxious to see who was behind it. I was more concerned with waking up Maedel in case something went wrong, so I didn't see what was going on. Fortunately, I could hear it.
"Why hello there! What can I help you with?" Morgana asked.
"I'm uh, I'm looking for a princess. She's been kidnapped, and I;m trying to rescue her." A male voice responded. Yep, Morgana was right about getting back on track. Maedel woke up with a snort and looked around.
"Those pancakes finished yet?" She asked.
"Sh, there's a prince here." I whispered.
"A princess? Well deary me, that's awful! But why would you be out looking for her? Isn't that what princes are for?" Morgana asked. Hang on, something wasn't right.
"Well yeah, but the king went out looking for her, and the place she was supposed to be at had burned down. He put a big bounty out on the witch who stole his daughter, and I thought I could find her." The man said.
"Well, I suppose you would know the woods better than a prince. Please come in, I'll see if I can help." Morgana said.
"Thank you ma'am. Have you seen a carriage around here recently? The witch escaped in one, so... is that Princess Sara and a wooden girl?" The man said as he entered the kitchen. He was clearly a lumberjack or something related. He was tall with unkempt red hair and a stubble. He had rippling muscles that stretched his leather coat. In short, he looked the way princes thought they looked.
"Congratulations, you found us." Maedel said as she dug into a stack of pancakes.
"I'm afraid I'm confused." The man said.
"You don't say? Still better than Jake at least. What to do with you though?" Morgana said as she froze the woodsman where he stood.
