Early in the morning, before the sun rose, I was woken up again. Apparently, I had dozed off at the table. The prince was up and moving.
"So, who are you?" I asked.
"That depends, are you Princess Sara?" He asked. I had heard that voice before. It was still shaky and scratchy, but it was remarkably familiar.
"Yes." I answered.
"Finally. Sis, you have no idea how long I've been looking for you." He replied. Could it really be? Was this dirt covered, beaten and battered man in front of me really my brother?
"Andrew? Is it really you?" I asked.
"The one and only." He replied smugly. I ran over and hugged him.
"Oh Andrew! I missed you so much!" I said.
"Where have you been? I heard you were kidnapped by Morgana, but mom stopped me from going after you. I had to slip away a week or two ago while she was at a ball. If she weren't my mother, I would have some choice words to say about her reaction to your disappearance." Andrew said.
"Oh you know she likes you better. You are the poor defenseless little baby after all." I said, pinching his cheek.
"Stop that. Really though, are you OK? I heard rumors of the things Morgana did to the other people that came looking for you." Andrew said.
"I'm fine. She's actually been fairly kind to me." I said. Then I realized something. Andrew was a prince here to rescue me.
"Oh my God, you have to leave!" I said. I was praying I hadn't already woken Morgana or there would be hell to pay.
"Good, let's go." Andrew said, making a move for the door.
"I can't." I said.
"What?" Andrew asked. He was utterly baffled by my response.
"If I leave, Morgana will come after me." I said.
"Simple then," Andrew said as he produced a dagger from inside his vest, "we kill her."
"We can't do that either." I said.
"OK now you're just being difficult." Andrew said.
"It's hard to explain. Look, Morgana isn't who you think she is, but she's also not going to just let me go. As crazy as it sounds, I think she kind of likes me." I said.
"I swear, if she so much as looked at you funny... were your breasts always that big?" Andrew said. Honestly, I had forgotten that Morgana enlarged my chest so long ago.
"Hm? Oh, no they weren't. And no, she doesn't like me in that way... probably." I said.
"You're going to have to explain all this. How about we do that somewhere else?" Andrew insisted. He was clearly not the laid back young boy I remembered him as.
"You first, what happened to you that got you like this?" I asked.
"Well, a week wandering the lands doesn't exactly allow time for personal care. The bite mark was from yesterday when... it's gone." Andrew said as he poked at his shoulder. His flesh was still visible, but there was clearly no injury.
"Morgana healed it." I said.
"OK, maybe she is different than I thought. Still, I think we should go. You'll still be better protected at the castle than you are here." Andrew said. Considering how many idiots managed to find this shack, he might have been right.
