"Because you did such a good job of stopping me from getting in the last few times." Morgana said. Andrew and I whirled around to see her leaning in the doorway to the kitchen.
"You! Stay back, I'm not afraid to use this!" Andrew said, waving the dagger around. Morgana turned it into a bouncy ball.
"Adorable, the little brother trying to save his big sister. It's times like this that really make me love my line of work." Morgana said as her hands started to glow.
"Morgana! You will not lay a hand on my brother." I said. Morgana was visibly shocked at how aggressive I was being.
"So, I guess this is the rose's thorns huh? Sara, I do not intend to injure your brother at all. However, I am going to transform him." Morgana asserted.
"Bitch." Maedel remarked as she walked into the room, "And did you really have to do this now? You could have been nice and waited until after pancakes."
"Shut up about pancakes. Morgana, if you change so much as one hair on my brothers head, I will make your life hell. Every single thing I have done that was remotely pleasant will be gone. I will resist you, I will try to run away, I will help the princes, I will set this house on fire if that is what it takes." I said.
"Those are some very powerful words Sara." Morgana said. For a moment, I thought I saw her take a step back.
"So, you're her brother?" Maedel said as she sat in the chair closest to Andrew.
"Is now really the best time?" Andrew asked.
"Eh, they're busy anyway." Maedel said.
"Would you two shut up?" I shouted.
"Sara, this is highly uncharacteristic of you." Morgana said. There was something odd about the brevity of her replies.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I'm not doing anything." Morgana said.
"Yes you are. If you weren't, you would say something sarcastic or antagonize us. You're up to something." I said.
"Alright Sara, I'll tell you what I'm doing. I intend to transform your brother. I also intend to not infuriate you. I'm trying to look through your mind to see what I can do to achieve both." Morgana said.
"You're reading my mind?" I shouted.
"Ah, no need to be loud. You'll break my concentration." Morgana said.
"Maedel, hit her." I said. Maedel promptly got up, walked over to Morgana and swatted her hand like one would do to a child.
"Cut it out. You can't have this one." She said.
"There has to be another solution." Morgana said.
"There isn't. You're both taking this too far. Sara, Morgana is not going to do something that would be directly opposed to you. Morgana, Sara is not going to allow her brother to be transformed. Got it?" Maedel said.
"Yes, fine, whatever. Then he leaves." Morgana said.
"Fine by me." I said.
"No." Andrew said.
"What?" I yelled.
"Interesting." Morgana said.
"Are you trying to make my life harder?" Maedel asked.
"I'm not going without Sara, and she's made it abundantly clear that she isn't leaving. I'm staying to keep an eye on her." Andrew said.
"You idiot!" I berated him.
"No, I kind of respect that. He's ten times the ranger my colleagues, hell even my superiors were." Maedel said.
"I agree. Kid's got balls." Morgana said.
"Um, thank you?" Andrew said.
"Leave!" I commanded. Of course, he didn't listen.
"I have to be transformed to stay here?" Andrew asked.
"Yes. Do you want to be a lumberjack or someone who would operate closer to Sara?" Morgana asked.
"Neither! He wants to leave!" I said.
"I think you already know." Andrew said.
"You son of a-" I was cut off by Morgana casting her spell.
