Johnny led Steve to through a series of hallways, security locked doors, and even a secret panel that opened
to the casino's VIP dining area. This area was unlike anything Steve had ever seen before. The walls were
covered in art that looked to be worth millions combined, HD televisions running programs from all over the
world filled an entire wall, there was memorabilia from famous actors and athlete that seemed to be just
laying around, and what few tables there were seemed to be made of pure silver.
"It's like a dreamworld." Steve said in awe, "I've never even imagined a place like this let alone eaten at
one."
"Well we'll have to fix that won't we Stephanie." Johnny said and like a ninja a waiter appeared out of
nowhere and lead to two to the most intimate two person table in a far corner of the room. Steve taking note
of this said, "But what about Janet?"
"Oh I'm sorry I forgot to tell you, on our way here my bodyguard texted me to tell me she wouldn't be coming.
Something apparently said something about 'she hasn't changed'." Steve felt a pang of guilt at hearing this
news. "I really should go get back to her."
"Relax, we're already here, see the waiter has already poured you a glass of wine, besides, Janet can take
care of herself can't she?"
"She certainly can. Honestly with the things going on in our lives right now I don't see why she would even
bother with me anymore." Steve said letting something out that had been brewing for a while since the powers
had revealed themselves.
"What do you mean?" Johnny asked sounding genuinely concerned.
"Well it's just...I feel like she doesn't need me anymore. Like I can just be replaced now."
Johnny not really sure what to say just said, "I'm sorry, but I don't know what to say to you right now to
help you out. But let me assure you that you are a special person who could never be replaced."
"I appreciate that but you don't know my situation, it's a bit complex." Steve said with his mind going
through a lot of different scenarios of Janet leaving his lazy ass for a man who could appreciate her and show
her the love he didn't know how to express.
"I'm sure it is." Johnny said then making up his mind said, "Look, I know you've only known me a short while
but I can tell you are a good person. You may think you make mistakes along the way but who doesn't. Yes
mistakes can be back, but we learn from them. Hell sometimes mistakes can lead to something glorious. Tonight
I am going to make you feel like the most special person in the world. Waiter." Johnny made a motion that
signaled he was ready to order, "We'll start off with a shrimp cocktail. For our entrees I will have a filet
Mignon and this lovely creature will have the salmon. And for desert we'll have your chocolate souffle. And
keep the wine coming, the best stuff you've got."
This display of wealth and command did seem to manage to get Steve out of his funk. Although he really wasn't
a fan of Johnny ordering for him, not the food choice, salmon was a favorite of his and would have ordered it
anyways. Just the fact he ordered it for him. Steve thought back to all the times he did that to Janet trying
to be romantic and realized what a jerk he must have come off as. "Thank you so much Mr. Helms. You've been
such a nice guy. You've said some things I think I needed to hear."
Johnny put his hand on top of Steve's and with his (literally) million dollar smile said, "Don't mention it,
the pleasure is all mine."
